As hard as this might be to believe, I don’t win every client I pitch to! I know, crazy, right?!
The truth is, no business ever does.
No matter how good our offering or pitch are, sometimes it just isn’t enough to bring that client on board.
That can be hard to take, especially when we believe 100% in what we do and how we can help.
The most painful ones are when a client comes to us, rather than us reaching out to them. Why would they go through the process if they didn’t want to use us?
We know some prospects are just shopping around, but there are some who reach out specifically for our offering.
There’s that famous saying:
‘You don’t succeed or fail, you succeed or learn’.
It’s a really important saying to live by.
Nothing in this world goes perfectly at the first attempt.
But those of us who persist, who test and learn, adapt our approach, get the best results.
The key to learning is feedback: if a client or prospect decides to use another law firm’s services, don’t be afraid to find out why.
That information is gold to you – each situation is an opportunity to improve your approach and get a better outcome in the future.
But you can’t learn if you don’t ask.
So make sure to get the answers you need.
That’s it for now.
Here’s to making it rain,
Scott
